Computer Technician

Computer technicians will work with, maintain, and upgrade PC, Mac, laptops, network and server hardware and software applications, other desktop technical equipment and accessories, and general office equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide hardware services
  • PC, Mac, laptop, network, server, and PDA hardware/device configuration, deployment and troubleshooting
  • RSA (VPN) token deployment and replacement
  • Configuring Windows network shares and mapping network drives
  • Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting/administration
  • Windows XP and Windows 7 administration
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting desktop PCs, phones, modems, laptops, docking stations, and other desktop technical equipment
  • Working with, maintaining, and upgrading PC, Mac, laptop, network, and server hardware and software applications, other desktop technical equipment and accessories, and general office equipment (e.g., printers, fax machines)
  • Providing general Desktop Support to end users in such areas as hardware, application, printer, telecom, PDA, video conference, etc. support
  • Providing break/fix repairs
  • Providing on-call support for major technical incidents
  • Troubleshooting computer hardware components
  • Asset tagging/labeling computers and other technical equipment and updating asset databases
  • Installing and QA testing new PCs and Macs
  • Installing VoIP phones
  • Documenting system problems
